Mement_mori and Shaun Deeb at the same table in yesterday’s Step E were a hard field to beat to move on to the next step. Nevertheless I was confident and optimistic enough to play against two of the world’s best online players. Confidence and optimism are unfortunately not the only things you need to have to be successful, even though it is better than being pessimistic.

Still, neither of both characteristics helped me to find the button to fold when hitting trips on a QQ2-flop with KQo against Shaun Deeb. I played out-of-position and bet right into him on every street, eventually going all-in with remaining 550 chips on a non-flush, non-straight board with 6 on the turn and 8 on the river. Preflop the action was unraised to I he might as well have something like KQ/QJ, maybe even Q10. Well, he did not, holding AQo he called probably not even wasting a thought about folding – at least I would not have. That way Step E was over during the second blind level busting in 9th after only 20 minutes of play…

It is hard to cope with the situation being a losing player now for almost four months after having at least some good scores/cashes/runs online when not running good live or the other way around in the past. Online or live games gave me in some way the possibility to withdraw money without touching a healthy bankroll or, if I did not cashout, build a higher bankroll step by step. Facing what has been and still is the worst run in my poker career, I am looking at every tourney buyin twice before registering. Is this how you feel when playing ‘scared money’? It might be and I have to experience some sort of turning point or catch a glimpse of upward trend at the horizon to get my confidence and motivation back up to 100%.

I will pay Saarbrücken’s Casino a visit in just a bit to have a look at the electronical Lightning Poker tables there that usually play NL1/2€, maybe even NL0.5/1€. Only in case I will be winning some money there or if there is nobody playing, I will move on to the live NL2/4 wagering 250€ at the most of project’s remaining funds. No matter how today will end, I will be giving up2date figures of the project including a forecast of what will be played next – wish me luck, I need it!!!

Usually I am not the kind of guy that forgets about rather important or interesting stuff. Having a look at my account at Pokerstars exactly that must have happened in the past weeks, because for some reason I was sitting on a Step C ticket (27 EUR) the whole time even though I thought I had none left. I checked my Pokertracker to see if it was a leftover from my previous attempts to qualify for higher tickets or the Estrellas Tour Ibiza Finale, but is not.

Most likely I had it for quite a while and simply did not notice. Nevertheless I used it in the past days to try to get higher valued tickets and moved up to Step D (82 EUR) right away. My first shot at Step E (215 EUR) was not successful busting short by one coinflip at the very end. Third place paid another Step D, so I took another shot and improved to Step E.

Step E have the worst payout structure of all steps, paying a Step F ticket to 1st and 2nd, but only one repeater of Step E to 3rd. 4th and 5th are dropping down to Step D, 6th even to Step C. Becoming 5th in the first Step E meant to grind back to Step D, which I did with success, so I am back with a Step E. I will be trying to improve it in the next days and will report on my doings as soon as something worthy to write about happens.

Tonite, I am going to a little tournament (50 EUR) in Luxembourg’s underground. Well, it is not really underground, but playing Poker with money involved is illegal in Luxembourg (or at least if it is more than 15 EUR, I think to have read somewhere). There is not a single Casino hosting Poker in Luxembourg, so maybe it is not as illegal as it would be with government owned casinos nearby losing their potential clients – still underground… 🙂

The tourney will not count towards the bankroll, nor will probably happening cashgame afterwards, because I do not know what “the situation” there will be (few players, bad structure, etc.).

Some of you might have read in the comments, that I did not win a package for the Estrellas Poker Tour Ibiza last nite. At least the two hours later started WPT Ireland Sub-Qualifier gave me yet another seat for upcoming Saturday’s finale, which will be shot # 3 at the package. So far I have generated +$170 in winning multiple seats for the finale and of course I will try to play some more $48 Step 3 this week as well to give the bankroll the so-needed boost.

Talking about boost could be the right topic: even though there was hardly any action seen in Trier’s Casino for the past months, I will be going there tonite since someone told me they started to get a nice NL2/4 cashgame table going on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – hopefully tonite as well. I have played there for quite a while back when they had more action, but stopped when the really weak players did not show up any more. Due to the bankroll being at 3,500 € no more than 350 € will be used to play cashgame tonite.
